Alivya was all about fishing on this trip. She tried a few dips with her uncle's pole yesterday, but nothing was really biting. So last night before Jon went golfing with Greg, Sonja and her dad, Grandma K and I went to the hardware store (in Townsend, the next town over) or you could think about it as across town (as it is about the same distance as being on the other side of a normal city...) Anyway, Grandma K set both Alivya and Taylor up with some cool new fishing gear. They each acquired a rod, bobbers, sinkers and of course, hooks. We waited until today to put them together and share them with the kids. This photo was taken right as Alivya first saw the pole (the orange circles all blurred out in the photo is actually the pole itself...)
Grandma K and Uncle Greg got them all set up...
Serious business...
They were thrilled. And seriously could not wait to get them in the water...
And not before long, we had our first fish... (little, but they didn't care!)
The kids would lay the line right in front of the dock and watch the fish as they nibbled on the lines. By the end of the day, Liv had caught seven. Taylor was done after his first catch and went back to playing trains.
