Today we dropped the van off a local collision center to be repaired after Jon's accident. I am super glad that its time has finally come. Since the accident, a week and half ago, every time I pulled out of driveway this nasty flap under the bumper would hit the concrete. Of course anyone and everyone within ear shot would then stare at us like an eye sore. Not to mention that the same flap or something it was connected to would make the tire grind when making right hand turns.
So while the van is getting its facelift, we are renting a gold Kia minivan. It has a really touchy accelerator, new car smell, and is very much "new". The kids think it is "awful" to quote Taylor. His facial expressions and excitement really didn't reflect his delcration of the vehicle's "awfullness" so asked for clarification... Taylor: "It is so awful, as in super cool awful." Me: "You mean awesome?" Taylor: "NO, AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL!!!"
Apparently, Websters, there is a new definition for the word "awful" that means to be so incredibly awesome, rad or cool that these words just won't do.
The kids are already begging us to "keep" it. "No, its a rental" has little or no meaning to minds under seven year old. Ava is even sharing the story about our "new car" with everyone we meet.
