This is Wes in his big boy high chair. He still needs some towel rolls for extra support, but otherwise does well in it. Getting him up gives us the chance to offer him finger foods that ultimately lead to development of fine motor skills. The snowball of hypotonia of the trunk is that kids delay sitting, which delays finger foods and smaller toy play, which in turn delays fine motor... you can see how it all adds up. So now that his head control has improved, we can get him into a number of supportive sitting devices that will allow him to begin to make up for lost time:) And as you can see, sometimes he even enjoys it.
