Jon is catching the new noodles as I am feeding the dough through the cutter.
This week for our weekly Sunday dinner at Grandma's, we decided to make some fresh pasta. Wes helped Dad sift the flour, Dad mixed it all in, and Mom helped kneed it together. Then we got out Grandmas old pasta press and Jon and I flattened and cut the dough. Wes was very interested in this process, and the other kids came over a few times with mild interest as well.

Jon is slowing making the dough thinner and thinner as he decreases the size of the press with each pass.
The whole process took about two hours, but is relatively easy. We ended up freezing two servings for use at a later date.

We ended up with four trays of fresh noodles that look just like this!
Served the pasta with roasted veggies and pan seared salmon. So delicious!
|
Cooked fresh homemade pasta with spinach and garlic/lemon sauce.
